What is Porcelain Enamel?

Porcelain enamel is a specially formulated, highly durable glass permanently fused to metal under extremely high temperatures. The metal may be steel, cast iron, or aluminum. It may be a protective surface for cooking utensils, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, and appliances such as dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators. It is acid resistant. Porcelain enamel may be a decorative surface of metal, glass or pottery.

 Porcelain enamel has many excellent properties: it is smooth, hard, chemically resistant, durable, can assume brilliant, long-lasting colors, and cannot burn. Its disadvantages are its tendency to crack or shatter when the substrate is stressed or bent.

This is the porcelain coated cooking grid for "T" model Viking Gas Grills. (VGBQ0302T, VGBQ3002RT, VGBQ4103RT these are examples of "T" models). Measures 23 1/4" x 11 1/2".

B2007409 Stainless Steel Flavor Grid/ Heat Plate Viking  (007905-000 new part #)

What is a flavor grid?

Many people have the need for this product but do not know what the proper name for the flavor grid.  This product may also be called a spill tray, heat plate or burner protector.  This product is rippled or zig-zagged stainless steel plate above the burners, but below the cooking surface, it's about 21" long.  The actual size is 5 15/16" x 21".  This Flavor Grid will fit most Viking Outdoor Grills  (prior to "T" series,  VGBQ3002RT, VGBQ4103RT these are examples of "T" series (ending in "T")  This product is also sometimes called a "heat plate".

G5004548 Viking Stainless Steel Grill Burner
